After surviving light rail attack, Charlotte man held on $2M bond for allegedly assaulting pregnant girlfriend

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Court records released on Thursday reveal that bond has been set at $2 million for Kenyon Dobie, the man who was seriously injured in a Dec. 5 light rail stabbing but is now facing his own assault charges.

Dobie, 24, appeared in court Thursday, where a judge appointed a public defender to represent him. Along with the high bond, the court issued strict release conditions, including electronic monitoring and a no-contact order with the victim in his case.

According to court documents, Dobie is barred from going near the victim’s home, workplace, school, or any location where she may be temporarily staying. As part of electronic monitoring, Dobie must consent to warrantless searches by CMPD if he is released…
