Cincinnati drug firm lands $25M in largest-ever Queen City Angels-led investment round

CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier/WKRC) – A Cincinnati startup that is developing drug treatments for skin diseases has raised $25 million in an investment round that’s the largest-ever to be led by locally based early-stage investment group Queen City Angels.

Alphyn Biologics wrapped up its Series B round Oct. 31, CEO Neal Koller told Cincinnati Business Courier. The six-year-old company plans to use the money to advance two drugs through the latter stages of Phase 2 clinical trials with the Food and Drug Administration.

“This is one of the most exciting companies we’ve invested in,” Tony Shipley, Queen City Angels chairman and co-founder, told Cincinnati Business Courier
