Southern Indiana White Flag shelter extends Sunday hours, organizations continue to aid homeless during bitter cold

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — Those who care for people experiencing homelessness across Kentuckiana are working around the clock this weekend as a stretch of dangerous cold moves in.

Friday night marked the 17th consecutive day the White Flag shelter at Culbertson Baptist Church in New Albany has been open. Organizers said demand has been relentless as temperatures fall well below normal for December.
