Former longtime ACI director AT Wall dies at 72

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Former longtime director of the R.I. Department of Corrections A.T. Wall has died.

His death was confirmed Friday by an RIDOC spokesperson. He was 72.

Wall was first selected to lead the state’s prison system by the late Gov. Lincoln Almond in 2000. He served in that position until 2018, which at the time made him the longest-serving corrections director in the country…
