Former Harvest Middle School Property Acquisition Final, Community Outreach Coming Soon

The City of Napa has officially closed on the purchase of the former Harvest Middle School property, located at 2447 Old Sonoma Road, marking a major milestone in expanding local recreational opportunities. Following a thorough due diligence process, the City now assumes full ownership of the 26.6-acre site, acquired for $25 million from the Napa Valley Unified School District. Backed in part by Measure G funds, the City will begin interim operations on January 2, 2026, ensuring the site remains active and accessible while a long-term vision—shaped by community input—is developed.

“With a site that holds such exciting potential to reshape recreation in Napa, the path forward must be transparent and collaborative,” said Mayor Scott Sedgley. “We are approaching this project with a commitment to inclusivity, ensuring the outcome aligns with our previously identified Council Focus Area of Parks and Community Spaces and the City’s core values.”

City staff have identified 17 community groups and organizations that currently hold rental agreements for the site, collectively accounting for 2,500 hours of gym and field space usage annually. To maintain continuity for local athletes and residents, the City is working with these groups to honor facility reservations through June 30, 2026.
