(FOX40.COM) — FOX40 is investigating a Texas-based organization’s plan to host a “multi-gang ceasefire negotiation” event on Friday. There was a lot of confusion surrounding the gathering as local law enforcement confirmed they were not invited and hosts refused to disclose the location.
The foundation, which goes by both the Youth Peace and Justice Foundation and the Uvalde Foundation for Kids, said the goal was to end cycles of gang retaliation. This event was scheduled to take place almost exactly two weeks after a mass shooting broke out at a child’s birthday party on Nov. 29. The tragic incident claimed the lives of three kids and one young adult — 15 others were injured and it quickly gained national attention.
