AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Buc-ee’s opened its doors last December, just before Christmas, bringing new jobs and significant revenue to the Yellow City, according to Potter County Tax Assessor Thomas Warren.
“This year alone, Buc-ee’s is going to end up paying about $356,000 in property taxes for their property off the highway. And that is a lot of revenue that wasn’t there before,” Warren said. “To give you an idea of what they paid last year, they paid $32,000 in property tax for the same property. So that’s almost a 90 percent increase in revenue from that single property.”
