Former Madison County Treasurer Amanda DeVos faces new felony charge; trial pushed back

MADISON COUNTY, Iowa — The upcoming trial for former Madison County Treasurer Amanda Kay DeVos will not take place next week, WHO 13 has confirmed, and court records show an additional felony charge has been brought against her.

DeVos, 38, was arrested in late January for allegedly using her access as county treasurer to alter government records to make it look like she paid for her vehicle registration plates when she had not. The Madison County Sheriff later announced she was under suspicion for an entirely different criminal scenario, allegedly involving her property taxes. However, charges for that alleged crime have not been filed.

She officially resigned from her position in mid-July, without admitting any wrongdoing…
