JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent in-custody death that happened Friday morning, Dec. 12.
Deputies stated that at 3 a.m., a 55-year-old male inmate was being treated at a local hospital after reportedly suffering a medical emergency several days prior. This ultimately resulted in his death, according to JPSO officials.

The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office will release the cause of death after an autopsy. Officials add that there is no indication that it was anything other than natural causes.
