Kansas county to sue state for $2.15 million over sales tax snafu

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A southwest Kansas county will sue the state to reclaim money that was supposed to go to its hospital.

In a press release earlier this week, the Morton County Board of Commissioners said it told the county attorney to file a lawsuit against the Kansas Department of Revenue.

The county is trying to recover about $1.85 million in sales tax revenue that was incorrectly distributed to other entities.
