TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The City of South Tucson is experiencing staffing and funding shortages with its fire department, prompting city officials to consider how to reshape services to ensure the safety of their residents.
Pima County supervisors are looking to enter an agreement to help the city get back on track financially. At their Dec. 16 meeting, the Pima County Board of Supervisors will consider an agreement between the City of South Tucson and Pima County to provide $1.2 million over a four-year period to assist with fire and emergency medical services.
