Former Kern High School District Superintendent Bill Hatcher dies at 83

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern High School District announced the passing of Bill Hatcher, the former superintendent, who died at the age of 83. Hatcher’s career began in 1964 as a teacher and wrestling coach at Shafter High School.

He became principal of East Bakersfield High School in 1989 and was named the first-ever principal of Centennial High School in 1992.

Earlier this year, Hatcher was inducted into Centennial’s Hall of Fame. He served as the district’s superintendent until his retirement in 2004…
