Marshall to Host Michigan Youth Challenge Academy Graduation for 116 Cadets on December 13

The Michigan Youth Challenge Academy (MYCA) will hold a graduation ceremony for 116 cadets on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The event will take place at 10 a.m. at Marshall High School, 701 N. Marshall Ave., Marshall, Michigan. Doors open at 9 a.m. The public is invited to attend. Representative Steve Frisbie will speak at the ceremony.

The graduating class includes cadets from 39 Michigan counties. MYCA is a voluntary and free alternative education program for youth. The program includes drill and ceremony, physical fitness, community service, and classroom instruction.

Of the 116 graduates, 88 will receive high school diplomas. The other cadets will continue their studies at home. Over the past 22 weeks, the class completed more than 5,300 hours of community service, mainly in the Battle Creek area…
