CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – West Texas A&M University celebrated its fall graduates with their fall commencement ceremonies at First United Bank Center in Canyon.
The special day was a little extra special for Kelly Hall Simons and her daughter-in-law, Brandily Hall, who got to share that stage this morning as they both celebrated graduating from WTAMU.

“It’s a goal I’ve always set for myself, even though I’m this close to retirement. I’m gonna graduate with my degree proudly. It’s a promise I made to my father, who’s no longer with us,” added Simon. “I’m really proud. It’s been a lot of years, 43 years to be exact. I have a lot of hard work and just staying with it.”
Hall explained: “It’s been a lot of late nights and early mornings. I also have a full-time job, and all of my kids are under the age of six. So it’s been a very rewarding accomplishment and also very tiring.”…
