Multiple agencies respond to train fire on U.S. 54

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Multiple agencies responded to a train fire Saturday morning, Dec. 13 along U.S. 54 in Otero County, New Mexico, near the Texas state line.

Otero County Fire credited the quick response of multiple agencies to keeping the fire contained to a single unit on the train.

The fire happened along Mile Marker 27, which is in Otero County. Fire crews from Fort Bliss, Otero County and White Sands Missile Range responded to the fire in a mutual aid situation, Otero County Fire said in a social media post.
