LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — With freezing temperatures on the horizon, Lafayette Consolidated Government and the Lafayette Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness are taking action to protect the community’s most vulnerable.
They announced that a warming shelter will open at the Dupuis Recreation Center on Sunday, December 14, at 4 p.m.
People seeking warmth can head to St. Joseph Diner starting at 3:30 p.m. for a ride to the shelter or arrive directly at the Dupuis Recreation Center. The shelter will offer refuge until temperatures climb above freezing on Monday…
