City of Madison to Hold Public Session on Protecting Local Lakes

On December 16, 2025, the City of Madison Common Council will hold a special discussion called ‘Love Our Lakes: City Strategies to Maintain and Improve Lake Health.’ The event is scheduled from 6:05 to 9 p.m. in Room 215 of the Madison Municipal Building. People can attend in person or watch online through City Channel. This session is for information only. It is not a formal council meeting and will not include public comments or legislative decisions.

Staff from the Engineering, Parks, and Streets departments will present information about challenges facing Madison’s lakes. Topics will include water pollution, stormwater runoff, shoreline erosion, and climate change. The session will also cover current and planned projects to protect and restore the city’s lakes.
