DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Police Department is warning people of a scam targeting residents in the Miami Valley.
According to the DPD, there have been multiple reports of people being scammed out of thousands of dollars recently.
Officials said the scammers call and lie, telling the victim they have an outstanding warrant, missed court, or owe fines. The scammers then demand payment over the phone.
