Native dances, food, and vendors will once again come back to Pier Plaza on Dec. 20 and 21 for the Christmas Pow Wow by the Sea. Usually held on Father’s Day weekend, this year’s event is happening in December due to 2025 being a leap year. This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the Pow Wow by the Sea held in the city.
The theme for this year’s Pow Wow is “Spirit of Giving.” A sand sculpture by I.B. Posse will reflect the theme.
About 150 dancers and seven drums will participate, explained event organizer J.L. Jackson of the nonprofit Native Like Water/One World Bridge. Because this event is held at Christmas time, a gift giveaway will be held for kids, and a free chicken dinner will be available for attendees…
