ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — On Saturday, Dec. 13, nonprofits that played an active role in providing resources after Helene hosted holiday events in areas that were devastated by the storm, giving out meals and gifts.
Quatira Lewis, a single mom, was at the Cowboy Christmas Celebration, picking out toys for her kids.
Lewis says that Christmases have gotten difficult since Helene, and that right after the storm, she had quit her job because there was no available childcare, and the schools were shut down…
