Chester County Buried in Snow as Winter Storm Slams, Then a Sudden Thaw Teases

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Winter has arrived with authority, and it is not asking politely. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 p.m. Sunday as heavy snow and blowing winds create treacherous conditions across Chester County. Snow continues today, occasionally falling heavy, with total accumulations across the region ranging between 4 and 6 inches. Temperatures will drop steadily through the afternoon, falling to around 20 degrees by 5 p.m. Strong northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph — gusting as high as 35 mph — will cause blowing snow and sharply reduced visibility. Road conditions are slick, and travel is strongly discouraged unless absolutely necessary.
