LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The first night of Hanukkah, a holiday meant to celebrate light, was overshadowed by darkness Sunday after a deadly attack during a Hanukkah celebration in Australia.
Authorities say two men, identified as a father and son, opened fire on a crowd gathered on Bondi Beach in Sydney, killing at least 15 people and injuring more than 40 others.
The violence sent shockwaves far beyond Australia’s borders. Jewish leaders in Lexington said attacks like this one were felt by Jewish communities worldwide.
