Out of an abundance of caution, all Illuminights activities, including the Walk of Lights Trail have been canceled for Sunday, December 14, 2025 due to Cold Weather and High Wind Advisories for Roanoke County. The National Weather Service is forecasting wind chill temperatures as low as -15 degrees this evening as temperatures fall into the low teens and northwest winds gust up to 45 mph. Explore Park is following the precautionary actions recommended by the National Weather Service which calls for people to avoid being outside due to extreme temperatures or in forested areas during high winds due to the threat of falling limbs and trees.
