LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln family is continuing their years-long tradition this year collecting toys and bringing it to CHI Health St. Elizabeth just in time for the holidays.
The Brestel family has been helping with the hospital’s donations for more than 20 years, in memory of their son. The Brestel’s son passed away in 2004 at just four years old following a battle with kidney cancer, receiving part of his treatment at St. Elizabeth.
His birthday would have been on Saturday. That’s why the family drops off all the toys they collected around this time…
