West Michigan hospitals continue hepatitis B vaccines for newborns despite federal rollback

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Three major West Michigan hospital systems are continuing to administer hepatitis B vaccines to babies, despite a rollback of recommendations at the federal level.

Earlier this month, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted to end the recommendation all American babies get the hepatitis B vaccine the day they are born.
