Delaware Police Arrest 21-year-old Who Confessed to Stealing Car the Day after the Theft

New Castle, Delaware – A stolen car investigation in New Castle took an unusual turn after the suspect called police on himself, leading to his arrest, authorities confirmed. The incident unfolded over two days in the Hunters Crossing neighborhood.

Stolen Hyundai Sonata Reported

Police were first dispatched Tuesday to Fairway Road following a report that a Hyundai Sonata had been stolen. The vehicle’s owner told officers that they had left the car running and unattended outside when it was taken.

Suspect Turns Himself In

The following day, 21-year-old Kayonne Baxter contacted authorities, admitting that he had taken the vehicle. Baxter reportedly told police that the stolen Hyundai had been towed, and he wanted to retrieve items he had left inside.

Police later took Baxter into custody on the same street where the car was initially stolen. The vehicle was recovered from a local towing company without further incident.
