CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — The parents of a 6-month-old baby found dead in Georgia are scheduled for a court hearing Monday morning.
Antonio Pearce and Necolette Pratt are both facing charges in connection with the death of their son, Nnakai Pratt. The parents are set to go before a judge for a virtual preliminary hearing around 8:30 a.m. Both have been denied bond on most charges.
Nnakai’s father, Pearce, was charged with malice murder and making false statements, among others. Pratt, the child’s mother, was charged with party to a crime, making false statements and obstruction of law enforcement officers.
Police say baby Nnakai was found dead in October near an apartment complex in Riverdale after Pearce reported him missing. He died from a head injury.
Pearce initially claimed he was robbed at gunpoint and that the robbers took Nnakai. Police say Pratt had previously told officers Pearce had shaken the child. But police say the parents’ stories didn’t match…
