AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Fire Department has given updated information on a house fire that occurred earlier in December on the 5300 block of Albert Avenue.
According to the Amarillo Fire Department, the woman who was found in the fire, who was in critical condition, has now passed away from her injuries she sustained. The woman’s name remains unknown at the request of her family.
According to previous reporting done by MyHighPlains.com, Crews responded to the house fire just after 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 in the 5300 block of Albert Avenue and found a single-story home with “heavy fire and smoke” visible from the front side.

Previous reports state that firefighters entered the home after being told someone might still be inside, and found the woman in the front middle bedroom. Two dogs and a cat were also found inside the home, according to officials, but died at the scene. AFD officials stated in the original story that estimated losses from the fire included $177,967 in property damage and $30,000 in content loss, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation…
