Our agency is conducting an investigation into a fatal auto-pedestrian collision that occurred on State Highway 146 northbound near Port Road at around 1:30 AM this morning.
Preliminary information indicates that an adult white male, in his twenties, entered the main lanes of SH 146 on foot and was struck and killed in the collision involving an on-duty Baytown Police officer in a marked unit. The Baytown Police officer was not injured.
Officials with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division arrived as members of the Precint 8 Crash Team processed the scene. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation…
