ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A vacant multi-family building fire in south St. Louis early Sunday has renewed concerns from nearby homeowners about the risks posed by vacant structures as firefighters respond to more vacant-building fires during the winter months.
Neighbor Aloha Kelly, who lives and works next door near South Jefferson Avenue and Allen Avenue, said she realized something was wrong as her family was getting ready to leave for the airport.
“Well, my kid was getting ready in the bathroom and I started screaming, the house is on fire next door, we’ve got to get out of the house, we’ve got to get out of the house,” Kelly said…
