A man charged with killing his ex-girlfriend in Greeley last year pleaded guilty and was sentenced to decades in prison Friday. According to 9 News, Gabriel Esparza, 24, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Friday and was sentenced to 40 years in the Department of Corrections, according to court records. Charges of first-degree murder and possession of a weapon by a previous offender were dropped. Esparza was charged with the murder of 24-year-old Sierra Mininger, who was shot on the morning of Dec. 8, 2024 and later died at the hospital.
