Albuquerque hot air balloon club comes together to raise donations for city shelters

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Hot air balloon pilots and their flight crews took to the skies this weekend, hoping to raise critical donations for the City of Albuquerque’s animal shelters. This weekend, 60 pilots and their flight crews from the Albuquerque Aerostat Ascension Association came together, combining their love of flying and community to help our four-legged friends in the city’s shelter.

“Hot air ballooning is just a beautiful thing in terms of just celebrating what we love about New Mexico,” explained Kristelle Siarza-Moon, the Special Events Coordinator for the Albuquerque Aerostat Ascension Association.

Quad A comes together every year to host their annual Jingle Bell Party, picking different organizations throughout the state to donate to. This year, they chose the City of Albuquerque’s Animal Welfare Department.
