UPDATE: The McFarland City Council appointed Adrian Olmos, who was serving as acting police chief, as the new police chief of McFarland during a special meeting on Monday.
The recruitment process for a new police chief began in late October. After reviewing applications and conducting interviews, city staff determined Olmos was the most qualified candidate, according to city officials.
