AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Emergency overnight shelters opened as dropping temperatures increased the need for homeless services across the area.
May Park, Augusta Rescue Mission, Garden City Rescue Mission and the Center of Hope all opened their doors to provide immediate shelter. Local nonprofit Open Arms Outreach distributed beanies, socks and thermals to hundreds of people last week to prepare for the colder weather.
