Freezing temperatures prompt warnings for Lowcountry homeowners

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — After a day of cold weather with even colder temperatures expected overnight, experts are urging Lowcountry homeowners to take steps now to prevent costly damages that can be caused freezing conditions.

Heating and plumbing companies typically see an uptick in calls when temperatures drop below freezing.

“This type of break right on a weekend, coming into a Monday morning it’s always a little bit of chaos,” said JD Zeliff, Commercial Accounts Manager for LIMRIC. “We do a good job and try to plan for those two to three days out leave ourselves capacity.”…
