Man sentenced to 2 life sentences after Winston-Salem murder, robbery

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A man was convicted of murder and robbery and sentenced to two life sentences, according to the office of Forsyth County District Attorney James O’Neill.

A Forsyth County jury convicted Michael Christopher Thompson, 50, after a week-long trial of:

  • First-Degree Murder
  • Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon
  • First-Degree Burglary
  • six counts of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling
  • possession of a firearm by a felon

Thompson was also convicted of being a violent, habitual felon.
