GREENSBORO, N.C. — Freezing temperatures across the Triad on Monday forced an early dismissal at a Greensboro elementary school and sent people experiencing homelessness seeking warmth at local shelters.
Guilford County Schools said students at Morehead Elementary School were released early at noon because of heating issues inside the building as temperatures remained at and below freezing. One third-grade student said the cold inside the school was hard to miss.
