GULF BREEZE, Fla. — Growing concerns and reports of near misses have led the City of Gulf Breeze to again redesign one of its busiest intersections — focused on protecting kids heading to and from school.
Every school day, the crosswalk at Nightingale Drive and Fairpoint Drive fills up.
“For cars and pedestrians, yes, this is a very busy intersection in the morning and afternoon when kids are going to and from school, and we have multi-family housing behind us,” project manager Craig Chamberlin said. “It’s just a busy road, and there’s a lot of what we call slipping back and forth.”…
