Childhood friend vows to keep focus on finding Forsyth Park attacker

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A Savannah woman suffered severe burns in a chemical attack Wednesday night. Her childhood friend has vowed to help police and keep attention on finding the attacker.

Police have increased patrols in the area since the attack. A spokesperson for Savannah Police said the driver of an SUV seen near the park around 8:15 p.m. has made contact with them, and officers have spoken to potential witnesses.

Police have also released an enhanced photo of a person that they want to identify in connection to the attack, but a spokesperson said he is not a suspect in the case.
