WEST BRANCH, Iowa (KCRG) – Cars and semis remain wrecked on the sides of I-80 after several crashes and hours-long delays Saturday.
First responders received the call for the first crash on I-80 around 9:30 Saturday morning. After that, slick conditions led to a chain reaction that caused dozens of crashes within a six-mile stretch.
“I’ve been here for a long time. I haven’t seen anything like this.. this big for a long time,” said Chief Kevin Stoolman with the West Branch Fire Department.
