Five left without a home after Nicolet Avenue fire in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Five people are without a home after a fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damage to a residence on Nicolet Avenue on Monday.

Shortly before noon, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to the 800 block of Nicolet Avenue for a report of a possible structure fire after an exterior light fixture was reported to be smoking.

When crews arrived, they conducted overhaul operations, opening walls, ceilings and flooring where the fire had spread inside the structure. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish remaining hot spots.
