ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – He was arrested for a hit and run in August that killed a motorcycle passenger. However, this isn’t the first time he’s been in trouble. Brandon Rafool had been sentenced to more than six years in prison months before the deadly crash for firing a gun at two people at a car wash, but he was out on probation because the judge suspended his prison term.

On August 18, Albuquerque police were called to the San Pedro Dr. and Menaul Blvd. intersection for a crash. According to police, Brandon Rafool was driving a black truck when he hit a motorcycle and fled the scene. The driver of the motorcycle was injured, while the passenger, a 37-year-old mother, Kaitlin Reese, died.
