Eugene driver faces DUII, reckless driving after crash on Green Acres

EUGENE, Ore. – A man was arrested after a dramatic crash early on Sunday morning, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said that they responded at 2:35 a.m. on Dec. 14 to a vehicle crash at Green Acres Road and Delta Oaks Drive. A Dodge Ram 1500, driven by 43-year-old Cesar Guzman-Garcia, had allegedly crashed into trees and a residential fence and also damaged a crosswalk sign and lost a tire before stopping, police said.

Authorities said that responding officers suspected Guzman-Garcia of impairment when they arrived at the scene. He became hostile, prompting the officers to call for emergency backup, Eugene police said. Guzman-Garcia reportedly resisted arrest and was subdued with pepper spray and a taser.
