(WJW) — Buckle up! The Ohio Department of Transportation is proposing more construction along I-77.
In a media release seeking public comment, officials said this proposed project involves a stretch from Cleveland to Cuyahoga Heights replacing the pavement from south of Grant Avenue to Broadway Avenue.

According to ODOT’s website, the project is needed for the following reasons:
“The narrow median shoulders on I-77 restrict access for emergency vehicles and do not provide enough room for disabled vehicles to pull out of traffic. The narrow median shoulders limit the ability to contain water during rainstorms. Furthermore, the highway drainage system is over 60 years old, and the conduits are in poor condition…
