‘Several hundred’ Asheville households without water due to weather-related line breaks

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Hundreds of households in Asheville may be without water for much of the day Tuesday, Dec. 16, after city officials say cold weather led to several line breaks.

Clay Chandler, the spokesperson for the city of Asheville’s Water Resources Department, said “unusually cold weather” resulted in multiple water line breaks, “leaving a lot of the Haw Creek area out of service.”

When asked about the number of people impacted, Chandler said, “Several hundred connections — or meters — are included in the outage.”…
