Harford County Sheriff’s Office charges five Edgewood suspects in retail theft scheme, seizes unserialized handgun

EDGEWOOD, MD—The Harford County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has charged five adults from the Edgewood and Aberdeen areas with multiple counts of retail theft, organized retail theft, and theft scheme following a months-long investigation into thefts totaling thousands of dollars from a Kohls department store on Osborne Parkway in Forest Hill.

The investigation uncovered three separate coordinated thefts that occurred over a two-week period in late October and early November. In each incident, a similar method was employed: suspects would load merchandise into a suitcase, place the suitcase near the front doors, and a separate individual would enter the store to take the bag without payment.

The first theft, reported on October 30, involved two suspects who loaded over $1,000 worth of Nike sneakers into a large suitcase before a third suspect entered and took the stolen goods.
