PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until 9 a.m.

Temperatures and wind chills will be dangerously cold, and hypothermia can occur if outdoors for prolonged periods of time.

Bitterly cold air is expected today as we start the day with temperatures in the teens.  Temperatures are going to stay below freezing through lunchtime, eventually topping out in the mid-30s under sunny skies. Skies will stay mostly clear overnight with lows in the lower-20s.

Enjoy sunshine and warmer weather on Tuesday. High pressure will slip to the south and southeast, producing a southwest breeze in the Piedmont. This milder wind is going to push highs to near 50 degrees. By Wednesday, we’ll have more clouds building up during the day with highs in the mid-50s…
