DEI debate returns to Frankfort, focused on K-12 education

FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — This year, Kentucky lawmakers passed House Bill 4.

It was one of the most-debated proposals in the session, undoing diversity, equity, and inclusion programs at Kentucky’s public colleges and universities. Now, a lawmaker is hoping to pass a similar law to cover K-12 public education as well.

“It is my hope with this bill that every student from Pikeville to Paducah will have an equal opportunity to a high-quality education, free from efforts to shape young minds against one another,” Sen.
