Donzelle’s Last Supper: Longtime Conway diner closing, for now

Since Willard and Donzelle Dickerson opened Donzelle’s Restaurant in May of 1962, not much has changed.

For three generations, local families, friends and colleagues have gathered at 1703 N. Main Street for a sense of community, a pot of coffee and traditional Southern fare such as hot cakes, grits and sausage biscuits. With a capacity of 62, Donzelle’s invites customers to enjoy breakfast and lunch from 4:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

At the helm of the diner is granddaughter Marley Crotts. In an interview conducted on Dec. 9, the lifelong Conway resident said she starts the day by baking cornbread and cake, brewing up to 15 gallons of sweet iced tea and prepping lunch for the dine-in crowd as well as the catering side of the business…
