Coast Guard seizes 13 tons of cocaine worth $203M in San Diego

SAN DIEGO — The crew of the United States Coast Guard Cutter Active offloaded approximately 27,551 pounds of cocaine on Monday at San Diego’s 10th Street Marine Avenue terminal, with an estimated street value of more than $203 million.

The seizure resulted from three separate interdictions of suspected drug-smuggling vessels in international waters off the coasts of Central and South America conducted since October. Two interdictions were carried out by crew members on USCGC Active and one by USCGC Munro crew members.
